Effectively Efficient - Choice Assessment Strategy
The How-To Guide for Improved Productivity.
Running a million miles an hour.
You can’t say what the scenery is like along the way. It’s all just a blur whenever you try to look out the window.
Even if you did know whether it was rocky, tree-filled or mountainous, you wouldn’t have found time to think about it.
Day after day it’s like this as you juggle relationships, work, home duties, elderly parents - and anxiety.
You get up at 6am and run well into the late night, or you’re a student under pressure to achieve, study and succeed.
What if I told you that the line between success and failure is very fine?
Why is it then that successful people seem to sail along smoothly while others fail?
Firstly,, it doesn’t always have anything to do with a lack of hard work.
Failure and success both can mean the individual behind the outcome has worked just as hard.
They have been dedicated, planned, set goals but reaped opposite results to what expected.
Why?
Productivity.
Successful people are more productive.
There is a distinction between volumes of hard work and actual productivity.
Setbacks along the way are not viewed as an end-all tally on the successful person’s self-worth.
That’s important.
In today’s world of needing to look, act, sound, and be, a certain way, this stereotype can cloud the lens and bog a person down.
Challenges are viewed as problems and left unchecked, those ‘problems’ can become all encompassing.
When we habitually turn our focus away from our goals and spend energy wading through problems like trying to push through slimy reed-encrusted swamp waters, we don’t get to move forward productively.
It might feel like we are making small gains as we inch slowly along, but the fact is, that’s just our energy expenditure logging itself on the books. We are simply aware of the mark in, but the outcome column remains at $0.00.
This does not mean successful people get off scot-free, enjoying a blissful sanctuary of smooth waters constantly.
It means that successful people don’t waste unnecessary time on problem street. They assess any issue as these arise, look at options to address it efficiently and execute. Time is not wasted on how the challenge makes them feel, their time instead is spent focused on what should now happen despite how they feel.
Huge difference.
You might read this and be left questioning how such a thing is possible when all you have ever done is be painfully aware of setbacks and every injustice you’ve experienced or perhaps, have perceived you have experienced.
And that’s the thing.
The mind set for successful growth must be altered to the correct setting.
